M26 ISKIERKA - DESCRIPTION

The PZL M26 ISKIERKA (Little Spark) is anew generation piston trainer designed for selection of pilots eligible for military training as well as for cost-effective training of civil pilots. The ISKIERKA is a cantilever low-wing monoplane with retractable landing gear and two seats in tandem arrangement. All-metal structure, combined with a few composite components, i.e. wing tips, tail plane and vertical tail unit tips.

The instrumentation provides for operation in VFR & IFR flights, no-icing, in the utility and aerobatic categories. The design incorporates the "safe-life" concept and meets the requirements of FAR Part 23, Amdt. 36. The airplane has been type-certificated by Civil Airworthiness Authorities of Poland (GICA) and USA (FAA) and Australia. The designed purpose of the airplane is military and civil pilot's training and refresher training, including in particular:
  • initial training and selection of military pilots;
  • professional pilots licence training;
  • pilot training in navigation night/day flights under various weather conditions;
  • refresher training in aerobatics;
