POWERPLANT
Powered by a single Textron-Lycoming AEIO-540-L1B5 six-cylinder, opposed-piston, air-cooled engine of 300 HP take-off and continuous power rating at 2700 rpm, fitted for operation in aerobatics, driving a three-blade Hoffman HO-V123K-V/200AH-10 or Hartzell HC-C3YR-4BF/FC8468-8R propeller.
RADIO/NAVIGATION SYSTEM
In standard configuration the airplane is equipped with Bendix/King flight & navigation instruments for both instructor-pilot and student-pilot cockpits, plus intercom and radio for the instructor's station.
Two options of the system are available for installation on the airplane.
COCKPIT
Two-seat, tandem arrangement with student-pilot seated in front. Aft seat stepped-up 150 mm to provide for enhanced visibility from both student's and instructor's stations.
Seats adjustable in vertical and horizontal plane with underseat compartments used for parachute storage.
Cockpit features a one-piece canopy of organic glass, openable to the right and emergency-jettisonable.
