85th Anniversary of "Szkoła Orląt", Dęblin

21-06-2010

June 17-20,  2010 the Polish Air Force Academy in Dęblin known also as “Szkoła Orląt”, celebrated the 85th anniversary. During the first two days there were conferences and air shows, including guiding aircraft show. Of course, there were also  other attractions such as live performances of Golec Orchestra and Pectus band and fireworks in the evening. The culminating point of the event was the aerial picnic on Saturday. The static exhibition included over 30 airplanes and helicopters. Among them there were  aircraft made in PZL Mielec such as An-2, SB Lim-2, TS-11 Iskra, and M28. Most aircraft took part in dynamic aircraft shows. The most interesting was a breathtaking show of our pilots, Wieslaw Cena and Tadeusz Franaszczuk, on the M28. There was also a Lim-2 show – the only one in Poland featuring aircraft combat of a F-16 and Mig-29. It is also noted that a Schweizer T333 helicopter, manufactured by Schweizer Aircraft subsidiary of Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, was also on display.
